Hell yeah! Great way to end the season. Our offense did its usual big game thing in the first half(terrible turnovers, no running game), but the defense played out of its mind.
All 21 Clemson pts came off turnovers, and the defense only really got burned on one play. Outstanding. They not only kept us in this game until Ganz could get it together, they stayed strong the whole way. I think I might cry.
Clemson's QB seemed decent enough, but he had zero pocket presence, and we exploited that perfectly.
Also, big props to Ganz for bouncing back in the second half and to the staff for sticking with the run, even when it wasn't going anywhere. I still hate some of the playcalling (slow developing runs to the outside that almost never worked), but sticking with Castille paid off with some huge runs.
Suh and the rest of the d-line showed just how much they improved under the coaching of a competent defensive staff. Beastly. Hopefully Suh stays another year--I fear NFL scouts may lure him away.
I'll try to collect my overall thoughts on Year 1 of the Pelini era in a later post, but this was a real nice way to end things and a positive sign that they seemed to improve considerably over the layoff. GBR!
