here's a few tips
-Over register, meaning register for more stuff than will be gifted to you. After the wedding you will typically get a discount on any item that was not purchased for you, typically at least 10%
-Make sure you register for gift cards
-Bed, Bath and Beyond is a must to register at due to their 20% off coupons. As I mentioned above, anything that was not bought for you you can now use a gift card, 10% for registering for it + the 20% off coupon. (We got the vacuum we wanted for nearly half of what it retailed for due to it being on sale and using the discounts at BB&B)
-Register for small stuff, ie under $5. This allows someoen that might not have much to spend on you get a few things, instead of feeling like they have to buy the $50 blender, crock pot, etc.
-If registering for pots and pans, knife sets, etc. places like BB&B will spit the set into individual items which are more affordable for your guests.
