HASSELBECK LIKELY TO RETURN NOVEMBER 16

Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is expected to miss one more game because of a bulging disk in his back that is causing weakness in his leg, but he expects to return soon.
The current plan is for Hasslebeck to miss Sunday’s game at Miami — which would be the fifth straight game he’s missed — and then return November 16 against the Cardinals.
“The hope is that he practices as the scout-team quarterback,” Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren said of Hasselbeck, “and gets used to doing some stuff again this week, if possible. … Right now, that’s kind of my plan. He has to do some things this week, feel good about it.”
Holmgren added that Hasselbeck has passed medical tests designed to determine whether he has gotten the strength back in his leg.
Holmgren said the Seahawks had other good news regarding injuries, as they are also getting closer to having wide receiver Deion Branch back, and defensive end Patrick Kerney is expected to return some time this season after successful shoulder surgery.
