First off just let me say that I have never HATED Nebraska. I have disrespect for mean fans on Both sides and don't like show boaters on either side. My reasons for not hating Nebraska are: 1. My brother has lived there since attending Creighton in 1968.

With the exceptions of a few big games, CU has pretty much been a doormat for NU. They haven't really been competitive enough with us to get viewed as a true rivalry. As the article mentions, since the Big 8 became the Big 12 CU has pretty much become our rival by default.
Again that isn't meant to offend the CU fans, just my honest opinion of this rivalry situation.
2. I have heard many nice things said by many Nebraska fans and players about my beloved Buffs over the years.
My reasons for not liking the Huskers:
1. Some Nebraska fans conveniently forget that their student section chanted, "Where's Sal?" during NU's 27-21 win in 1989. That would be former Colorado quarterback Sal Aunese, who had died of cancer earlier in the year. Also that they painted in red letters just across the Colorado/Nebraska border, on the highway: "Sal Is Dead, Go Big Red"
I don't ever recall CU fans saying or doing anything horrible when Brook Berringer was killed on that terrible plane crash.
2. Tom Osborne...
In 1990 (Our Only Championship Season) say what you will about the 5th down against Missouri and Georgia Tech ending up undefeated. Fact is, Colorado went into the Orange Bowl ranked #1 and won against Notre Dame while GTech crushed a lower ranked Nebraska team. The ONLY reason the Championship was split was because of Tom voting Georgia Tech #1. He was the ONLY one!
For as much as it's been kinda one sided for a rivalry, Michigan is 20 games up on Ohio State in their history. I like the energy Coach Mac brought back in 1982...here's a link that explaine things better than I can, and it's by a Nebraska fan!
