Frank Black - Cult of Ray
While this wasnt Thompson's most popular effort, I believe that its packed full of excellent tracks. For the Black purist, this album has as many home runs as his first record. Cult really showcases Lyle Workman as one of the most creative and skilled "underground" rock guitar players of his era. From beginning to end, this album has always struck me as one of Thompson's best and most complete efforts.
