Dipso pointed out that TJ recently turned off User Note pictures ... and thats's in addition to avatars still gone, and no more "Users Currently in This Thread" or "Who's Online."
But I really REALLY like all of these features, and I have a few questions:
- What is needed to upgrade the site to be capable of handling these features again?
- If it's about money, the OM annual pledge drive is in three months, what should our target $$$ goal be? Should we move up the fundraiser to now?
- I had always heard that images hosted off-site (ImageShack, PhotoBucket) do NOT hog resources. Is that true? If so, why are User Note images off?
- Can you turn off local on-site image-hosting and sig hosting? That would save some resources.
- What is the off-season (right now) chances for any of these features to come back?
Lord knows I post more images around here than any two other posters combined, so if the OFF-site hosting is a resource hog, let me know.
