He put up a .760 OPS in 77 ABs at the ML level in '06, and last year was really just a horrible April and July. In 66 ABs post ASB he put up a .764 OPS as well. He's had some sample sizes of success.
Players aren't number generating machines, when they step into a new role, like playing on the big league club, there is often a transition period. Iannetta wasn't given one in Colorado and now he's effectively blocked until he's 26.
I'm not saying the Rockies should have stuck with him no matter what, but if this is their choice they should move him now before his value is completely shot.
