I'd have to do some research on who was the front-runner in 1999. Besides, there are vast differences between Bush and Guliani. Bush appeared to have what conservatives wanted in a candidate. It's only after he was elected that Bush was revealed to be a guy who hasn't met a spending bill he didn't like...at least, until the Democrats took office. The Republican base knows that Guliani is pro-choice, and that could be his downfall unless he convinces the people that his whole campaign is not centered around 9/11.
Don't be surprised if he gets in. there are some folks out there who quite simply do not trust Hillary. He may be highly electable vs. Hillary is what it comes down to. Wouldn't surprise me in the least. Personally, I do not know whom I favor amongst the Repubs, however no matter whom I would side with amongst the dems, Hillary is the nominee unless a major faux paus drives her into a ditch. Ergo, your opponent is hillabroom, and she's the one they have to gameplan for......dman
