When it comes to tone, taste, phrasing, and seldom playing a note you have to apologize for, Landau is the king.
That's why everybody and his mother has hired him to play on their records.
You don't become king of the hill in L.A. by being "wanktastic."
His tone is great. No complaints there. Beautiful stuff. He's very good at utilizing his guitar and his rig.
His phrasing is good as well, but there are times when he tries to fit too much into to little of space. His tone is classically spacious.
I'm not saying that the guy isnt good.
