Your video card is a piece of equipment on the inside of your computer. It has a place in the back of the computer that your monitor plugs into. Where you plug the monitor into the back of the computer, you have to look at that connection. If its blue, its a standard VGA plug in. If its white, its DVI.
If your monitor is one of the flat panels it should also have a USB connection wherre you can plug your monitor in via a USB slot. Below is an image of a video card that has both AND an S-Video input.
