The refs are probably the easiest to buy off. Nobody is going to be able to buy off a star player. They are already making a boat load of money. It would even be hard to buy off a role player. What would be the point of buying off a player like Smush Parker. If he's blowing it, Kobe just won't pass him the ball, or Phil Jackson will just yank him out of the game.
The refs, who are well paid, but far from making it big time, would be an easy target, and they would have more control over the game than most of the players.
