I would love to get a straight razor and give that a go, but I know you can slice the hell out of yourself, but it will still give you the best shave. I go simple w/ disposable razors and use them a max of 2 times. Having a razor that bends when you shave really doesn't help.

As for shaving downtown, buy a beard trimmer with a smaller trimming surface and you're good to go.
