I just watched Wednesday's episode and it's getting verrrry interesting!!!
I thought of the whole Biblical reference after hearing the name 'Jacob' come up. Jacob had 12 children who later became the 12 tribes of Isreal. He had two wives, Rachael and Leah. Rachael was the one that Jacob loved and adored; he waited many years for her hand in marriage and was only given that after he was made to marry Leah. Rachael was barren but God let Rachael have 2 children. Leah had the other 10. Rachael's children were Joseph (the one Jacob loved most, ie the coat of many colors, later given to slavery by his brothers) and Benjamin who was the child that Rachael died giving birth to. (light bulb moment
I have to wonder if Ben is really calling the shots (he's wayyyy to crafty and manipulative and he's very good with the mind games). I also wonder if Jacob was once the leader and Ben has him held captive there in some manner. (Maybe Jacob is Ben's REAL father
??) I also wonder if the "monster" has something to do with what happened in that house when Locke shined the flash light. I wonder if it has something to do with the electrical power of the flashlight that caused all hell to break loose. I do think there is probably a logical and scientific explanation to why Locke could not see Jacob but did hear the words "Help Me!". Did you see the look on Ben's face when Locke told him what he heard? Why would Jacob say "Help Me" if he didn't need the help? Incidently, there is a picture of a shadowed man that was sitting in the chair...it's referenced on some of the Lost fan websites.
On another note, I don't think that Locke is dead. The island has a fancy for healing him. And, I think it would dissappoint too many people. But I was under the impression that there were going to be several deaths prior to the season finale. So, I do wonder just who will die next week. Oh, this is getting sooooo exciting!!
