probably because they are more aggressive by nature (though still a very good dog by all accounts when trained properly) and moreso because alot of turds that wouldve got a pit but couldnt because of a law in their area now get a rot.

Agree 100% and have a perfect case that supports it.
When I was growing up in the Green Mountain area - there was a duplex house where each owner had a pitt bull.
One Pitt was a marble named Terminator. The other was a solid colored named Taz.
Taz was not trained other than being housebroken. He was rough housed (play) by his owner - so the dog felt that being rough was a good time.
Terminator however attended K9 type training. This dog was one of the most amazing creatures I ever came across. Very well trained, very disciplined and very respected by his owner. Had 'on' and 'off' commands that were exceptionally reliable. I would certainly have trusted Terminator around very young children - no problem.
Taz? No way in hell. He was an undisciplined brute raised by brutes.
