Traffic lights are generally only seen as suggestions and itīs common to park your car on the road with flashing warning lights. It is pretty bad, yes, and I usually feel very uneasy there, at least in the cities. Torino and Genova are nightmares ... thank god Iīve never driven in the Southern Italian cities like Napoli or Palermo .... the secret to driving there without suffering a heart attack is to just go and donīt stop ... if you stop, you lose. And we havenīt even talked about the Vespas yet ...
Italy is the worst I have driven in or seen, but I am not sure whether itīs the worst in the world. Turkey and some other Asian countries are pretty chaotic also.
