I thought those rumors were shot down last week or so?
Teams "overwhelmingly" like the structure of two conferences with three divisions each.
"There are some clubs -- Minnesota and Dallas that play most of their division games in other time zones -- in an ideal would that would like to see an adjustment. Based on geography, there's no way of doing that," Bettman said.

So far so good if you ask me but money talks and there are a couple billionaires out there seeking to bring a hockey team to Hartford, CT and to Canada like Hamilton, Quebec, Winnepeg etc. Not to mention Kansas City has an arena ready for an NHL team, so who knows? That said I wouldn't be suprised if an expansion happened in the next 5 years.
