Once you buy the gear (I have a simple 2, 5 gallon bucket system that cost me about $80, that indcludes bottles, caps, capper, and everything else you need. I can do 2 cases (5 gallons) a week if I wanted to.) a recipe costs between $20 and $45 (2 cases a recipe). It breaks down to about a dollar a beer or less after a few batches. If you have never had non-pasteurized beer, you aren't living. I can't describe it, it just tastes sooo much better. Earthier, richer, fresher, I don't know, you gotta try it.
