In my opinion, if you start limiting the right of people to purchase and carry firearms, then you are just disarming the law abiding public. If Joe Crackhead wants to use his gun to kill some gas station attendant, he's generally not gonna give a rat's behind that it's illegal for him to have that gun.
My point is, with our laws the SUPPLY of guns is great per capita, which increases the chances that someone can illegally obtain a gun... rather easily I might add (in fact it's almost a joke).
