It's a great risk to take for the Nuggets. They were a middle of the road team. A team that could just make the playoffs, only to get run in the first round. If this works in their favor they could be a contender. If they can't get along it could be a disaster. But atleast they made a move that could potentially improve themselves. Amidst the fighting and **** talking, this is the best point. This team, while young and improving, weren't in a position to make a legitimate run. And if in 2 1/2 years, if it's still not working, they let him go.
But I do believe this could potentially boost them out of the first round this year, and potentially farther in the next years.
And I think it's not out of the question that Melo and AI do infact coexist with each other. With the way the Nugs play, everybody will get their shots, IMO. The Nuggets want to fast break, and with AI and JR flying out on the wings running up the court, we'll have a better fast break game, as well as when in the half court, there are now 2 players (Melo and AI) that you have to account for, if not double team. It's going to spread things out.
