There are solar "panels" now available that are very thin and pliable - similar to plastic wrap. It can be applied on windows, between window panes or even to roofs. No more big montsrosities on roofs. I have read about it several times, most recently in Business 2.0. I would give more detail, but I already finished that issue and dumped it.
