Okay, my thoughts...
I loved the first season. I was intrigued by how they did things and glued to the set to wait for what happened next. It was raw and exciting.
Second season I was disappointed. SciFi definitely got a hold of it. They added tons of sound of effects and rapidly flashed images of scary faces and things between cuts. I began to look forward to watching the show to point out what they did wrong. There was also way too much focus on the people and not what they were doing.
So far this season opener, better. I actually watched this episode Saturday morning on the SciFi website and watched it again tonight. It may be the editing, but it does seem like they are being less professional with their investigations. Jason and Grant (mostly Grant) seemed extremely jumpy. That full body apparition, why would they not carry a camera with them at all times? It would be pretty cool to experience Tombstone like that. I'm tired of the Roto Rooter tie in. They are nothing more than a paid sponsor now. I guarantee they don't do plumbing jobs anymore. Anyway, I'll still watch the show every week.
