I agree with that for the most part and I am not making any excuses for the US team when I say this, but the international officiating is AWFUL in regards to the US. It's been mentioned by many sportswriters that the refs will nail the NBA "superstars" with the ticky tack fouls that shouldn't be called.
That said, we should have won and it's disappointing.
