Clemente was another guy who was lethal with pitches out of the strike zone. His tremendous influence spawned a lot of bad ball hitting proteges in Pittsburgh, too, including Manny Sanguillen who idolized him. Many Latin players have been known as bad ball hitters over the years. There's a saying in the Dominican Republic: "You can't walk your way off the island."
