QUARTERBACKS
As I told Khan over the phone, I thought Cutler and Plummer both were quite mediocre today, unlike the last several days. Now they weren't horrible, but not quite up to par. Actually Jake started off ok, they worked the rollouts alot today. He had a nice little flik to Alexander in the flat when he was being pressured. It wasnt even a throw, more like a little flick of the ball right before the defender could tag him. Shortly thereafter he made the mistake of throwing across his body on a rollout and he didnt get set, fortuneatly Marshall made a nice leaping catch past Big Al. He had some miscommunication with the recievers, there were a few times when the recievers cut it short and he threw it deep. He was also inaccurate on slants a few times, throwing them high and behind the reciever and threw a deep ball too far for Walker who had beaten Fox. There was anotehr deep ball where again Jake put too much on it and it was almost picked by Hamza Abdullah. Cutler had a nice throw on a post to Terrell, but was a little low and inaccurate on a seam route to Alexander who still caught it. Jay was also inaccurate on a deep comeback, putting it a little too inside and close to the defender. Cutler also had a ball along the sideline that just went out of bounds. The QBs did do some good things though. He had a nice laser that was right on the money to Clark and Shoate had to interfere to prevent the reception. Plummer also had several nice connections with Marshall. BVP was shaky as usual. He did have some nice throws to Adams in particular. Bradlee was picked off for a PICK SIX by D-Will though who correctly anticipated a route and stepped right into the passing lane at the perfect time.
RUNNING BACKS
This group was solid today. Even Dayne had his moments. Mike Bell continues to show a good combination of power, moves and acceleration once he gets either to the sideline or the hole. Mike Bell's vision continues to be the best of the group and he can cut on a dime. He actually cut back on a toss today, he was outside of the TE and cut all the way back, real quickly, to around the area of the center when he saw that the DT there was pursuing him hard to the corner. Tatum repeatedly beat the defense to the corner and I noticed that he is running with a lower pad level now. He's also finding the creases a little better. There was an inside run where he could have easily bumped into the back of Cooper but he just slithered around and found an opening at the last second. All of the backs fumbled at least once though. I believe Burnsie forced one of them, I didnt see who forced the others. They gave Sapp some carries today but he didnt do anything with them.
