Today was one of the best camps I've attended is some time. There were a lot of good plays on both sides of the ball and players played hard and focused. I'll start with some little notes:

Javon Walker is the second wide receiver.

Watts still at third, though he didn't have a good practice today.

D-Wil practiced today. He was fine. So muich for the hysteria yesterday.

Nate Jackson sat out with a hurt foot.

Hixon still hurt.

Ok Let's start with running backs:

Ron Dayne: Lots of tap dancing and Bobby T. Called him out on it. The best analysis I've heard on Dayne was fron Anthony Pacino. Hopefully he'll post here, but essentially he isn't a power runner and he jsut kind of squeeks through holes. No burst, not much evasion ability though he did cut back better today.

Tatum Bell: Much better. The last couple practices he's stepped things up. Good burst, doesn't get tripped all the time like he did last year. In fact he hi-stepped a defender through a hole and broke into the secondary on one run. His hands are pretty good, which is huge from last year. My only beef with him is he gets blown up pretty easily. Still, overall better performance.

Mike Bell: This guy is the bomb. He has the best vision of the three, evasive but powerful. They couldn't stop him in the Redzone. In fact he was the only runner our D consistantly had a problem with. SoCal mentioned that he should at least be our short yardage back, and I agree. The play I was most impressed with was during the move-the-ball drill where on a blitz he blew up Ian Gold and allowed a completion. It was a heady play and one that will help show how well-rounded he is.

Cedric Cobbs: He had a few (very few) decent runs today but they were mostly a result of good blocking (I felt.)

Marty Johnson: I still like this good. I think he could chill on our practice squad and be a decent backup in a year or so. Is a good runner that reads the holes and gets yards after the first hit.

Next: QB's
