It'll be tough this year, but things will open up after this season. The Avs have about 16 million of cap space committed to 7 players for 07-08. All the bad contracts (except for Theodore's) will be off the books and those damn bonuses will be gone. Young players like Wolski and Stastny will start to emerge. I'm fully ready to accept that the Avs may stumble and miss the playoffs next year. A top 15 pick in a deep draft isn't the end of the world. They need to rebuild their prospect system and the last three drafts have really helped that effort. Wolski, Richardson, and Stastny are just the tip of the iceberg.
