you got any recomendations for the brands on that brush and soap?

"Williams Mug Soap" is a very good low cost soap. Lathers up pretty good and is easy to find in most pharmacies and grocery stores.

As far as brushes, you can find a good badger hair brush for $30. But I would probably go ahead and splurge on a slightly more expensive one. No need to go over $60. Just make sure it's badger hair and not boar hair. BIG difference. has a decent selection. I bought a complete set (Brush, bowl, soap, razor and stand) for $80 bucks.

This thread caught my attention when it was started and I decided to give it a try and I'm very glad I did. I still use a Mach 3 but I'll never go back to shaving gel or cream.
