Totally different scenario. With the 20/20 lens of history, it now seems an unnecessary act-dropping two A-bombs on Japan. But the reasons were myriad and very coldly calculated. Nukes didn't exist before then so there wasn't the stigma attached to them that there is now. Back then, they could just wipe out a city in one fell swoop to where it's grown to the point where mankind can obliterate all life on the planet forever.
But really, it's nothing I think is worth arguing about. I won't argue hard that it was the right thing to do which means I won't change anyone's mind. Maybe we should have, maybe we shouldn't have. Either way it has no bearing on the Iranian issue of today.
I feel it was the right thing to do ......... Iran and the nuke , I dont think they wil use it , just as a saber rattle , but it wont get that far .........
