Sorround sound systems
Im looking in to getting a surround sound system for my living room. As I started researching, I realised, I have no effing clue what I actually need. I just want a basic unit to hook up in my living room with speakers near the sofa or wherever they can be positioned for the best sound. I am not looking for top of the line systems (Ive seen some for 3K).... Just a nice 3 to 400 hundred bucks that Ill get my moneys worth.
Any suggestions? Thanks |
I've had this Sony all-in-one DAV-HDX500 home theater system for almost five years now, I love it. 5 DVD changer + AM/FM + plenty of hookups + all 6 speakers, all-in-one.
Weird part is there's no tone controls, just a bass boost switch and movie or music selector switch. Still it always sounds great. There is a microphone that aligns the surround sound field, place where you sit, and the system's white noise-like sound sets it up. Seems odd I'm so content, for years I had been a committed audiophile ... HK, Denon, KEF, Monster cable (BTW: Monster cables are the biggest ripoff ever). http://pebuzz.com/img_1206369924.jpg |
Wow, here you go ... very similar to my system, but with BLU-RAY! Right in your price range, too. Lucky duck.

They just cut the price $70 at the Sony Store (click here). The whole thing is $329 with Blu-Ray.
