Extra Life - Gaming for kiddos

It's an awesome charity, and I know there are a ton of gamers here. If this is a TOS thing I apologize.

Here is my link if anyone wants to "sponsor" me, and I can include the link to the team I am on but more importantly...it would be cool if there was an OM team. I don't give a crap what I personally raise really...it's all going to a bunch of great places that help kids.

Extra Life began in 2008 as a way of honoring a young lady named Victoria Enmon. Toriís battle against acute lymphoblastic leukemia inspired the Sarcastic Gamer Community in a way that is difficult to describe. Members sent in video games and bought gifts to keep Toriís spirits up despite numerous hospital stays and three bouts with the deadly disease.

Tragically, we lost Tori to cancer in January 2008. Later that year, I asked my partners at Sarcastic Gamer if they would be interested in Extra Life, a 24-hour video game marathon to raise money for the hospital that treated and fought beside Tori. In 2008 and 2009 Extra Life raised a combined $302,000, 100 percent of which went directly to help kids like Tori at my local Childrenís Miracle Network Hospital (Texas Childrenís Hospital).

While thousands of gamers, more than 100 websites and more than 12,000 donors were happy to support Extra Life, many expressed their desire to raise money to help kids closer to home. In what I can only consider destiny, in 2009 I left behind my radio career and went to work full-time for Childrenís Miracle Network Hospitals as a Radiothon Director. This life-changing event gave me unique insight into an incredible non-profit organization that helps kids all over the United States and Canada.

I quickly realized that Children's Miracle Network Hospitals would be the perfect solution to expand Extra Life into more communities.

This year, when you sign up to play video games for 24 hours on Oct. 15, 2011, you wonít just be raising money for kids. Youíll be supporting LOCAL kids and their families. Kids right in your own backyard.

All the money you raise for Extra Life 2011 will go directly to the Childrenís Miracle Network Hospital of your choice.
I am a gamer, and father of 4...so I will be fully in on it.

Here is our team page...feel free to join, but I encourage participation no matter what. It's free to partake (just not to donate obviously).

Mods, I am not trying to spam...but I understand if it gets taken down for that reason.

Once again, supporting this amazing cause this year! Shoot me a PM if you'd like my Xbox gamertag or PSN ID. I will probably run a Google Hangout also the whole time just to talk to people.

As far as games on Xbox I plan on finishing a few I have been meaning to but playing Black Ops 2, Battlefield 4 (comes out that week, boosh) and some Halo 4.

PS3 probably The Last of Us.

My goal this year is $200, once I meet that I am going to give away some Origin and Steam codes this year. Pass this on to anyone you think might like playing or supporting.

Thanks OM!

For you PC gamers, I am going to be giving away 16 codes for games during this event. Some on Origin, some on Steam.

Will get a Google hangout rolling the whole time, all you'll have to do is show up and say hi and I will give one out. I will post on there which code, will do one per hour or something like that. Any donation, you get to choose whatever game you want as well.

These are the game codes I have:

Dead Space - Origin
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box - Origin
Crysis 2: Maximum Edition - Origin
Dead Space 3 - Origin
Medal of Honor - Origin
Mirror's Edge - Origin
Battlefield 3 - Origin
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising - Origin
Populous - Origin
The Sims 3 - Origin
The Sims 3 High End Loft Stuff - Origin
The Sims 3 Late Night - Origin
The Sims 3 Date Night - Origin
Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box - Steam
Mirror's Edge - Steam
Command & Conquer: Red Alert 3 - Uprising - Steam

Also if you're on Xbox hit me up during the event. Going to be playing a ton of Battlefield 4, Saints Row 4, Black Ops 2 and probably some older games I have. Going to try and play The Last Of Us some as well for you PS3 people that care.

For anyone local, if you donate $20 or more you'll be entered to win a tailgating prize pack.

Donate $40 or more and I will host a complete tailgate with food and booze to either the Tennessee or San Diego games here in Denver for you and your family/friends.

Rabb, I just came across this post. Seems like one that could have gone on the main forum seeing as you're connecting in a Denver Broncos tailgate give-away. Sorry I didn't get anything in to support you and this cause earlier. Hope it went well! Looks like a great event.

Thanks man and no worries, I was stunned none of my twitter followers took me up on the tailgating offer. Overall we met our team goal and I think they raised a total over over 3.8 million this year.

October 25th this year, I will be going from 8 AM to 8 AM on the 26th. I'll be streaming a decent amount on Twitch for those that do that sort of thing.

Our team is doing well, raised our overall goal once already!

Every $ helps, and passing the word on also helps. I appreciate all of it!

I know I'm the most useless poster on the Mane, but still. Bump.
