Thick crust is better, pizza crust is not supposed to be crunchy

TailgateNut 09-17-2010 06:03 PM

Just dust the pan with a bit o flour and top it with meat and veggies!

bfoflcommish 09-17-2010 06:17 PM

depends on the day and the place

You sir, are an idiot and clearly know nothing of neither football nor pizza!

TheReverend 09-17-2010 06:17 PM

Between the two options: that chicago deep dish right there.

Best option though: Pan.

Boom. Delicious.

WABronco 09-17-2010 06:19 PM

Well, I'm kind of a p***Y, so I don't like a massive amount of meat in a deep dish style. Give me thicker crust, good sauce and cheese, pepperoni, veggies...YUM.

Even the thin crust hippy pizza stuff you can get nowadays with chicken and artichoke heart and stuff...that's not terrible either.

Rohirrim 09-17-2010 06:22 PM

Ray's New York Pizza

WolfpackGuy 09-17-2010 06:23 PM

Thin, light on the sauce with slices of fresh mozarella from a coal fired oven is the way to go.

SouthStndJunkie 09-17-2010 06:33 PM

Love me some za....I like thin crust, regular crust, and deep dish.

I love rolling into someplace new and trying out some of the local pizza.

rbackfactory80 09-17-2010 06:36 PM

Brick or Coal Oven.

broncocalijohn 09-17-2010 06:36 PM

both. Pizza is good food. Deep Dish for sit down restuarant that you might want a fork. thin slice is for the go.

I make a great chicken, artichoke heart, garlic, alfredo sauce pizza but not with a thin crust. I don't like thin crust either, CBF is right, it should not be crunchy. I don't need it to be deep dish necessarily, I just like a fresh bread tasting crust. Love a good stuffed cheese crust too but those are hard to find.

UberBroncoMan 09-17-2010 07:37 PM

Honestly I love both and would prefer both over the standard crust. Deep dish for sure if I'm super hungry though. If not I'll go thin.

tsiguy96 09-17-2010 07:43 PM

deep dish or bust.

gtown 09-17-2010 07:46 PM

Good pizza is good pizza. Deep dish with lots of cheese and sausage and good quality sauce is off the charts, but so is brick-oven thin crust with slight crunchy pepperoni slices, buffalo mozzarella, and a bit of garlic. Add a Bronco game and a cold beer and you have American heaven.

Italian pizza (the real thing) is somewhat crunchy, because is comes from a 500+ degree oven. I like it all, but deep dish is not really pizza, more of a tomato, cheese, and meat soup bowl. Hand tossed (thanks batman), homemade in a super hot oven is the way to go. You get to pick your own dough, toppings, company, beer. Awesome.

Bronco Boy 09-17-2010 08:08 PM

I wish there was a pizza place where you could make your own pie. Now that would be something.

I'm more and more the same way. Like a little sausage on there, but I like the veggies loaded on pretty well. Giordano's deep dish has a pretty good spinach pizza I get sometimes. I like a thin crust pizza with pepperoni as much as the next guy, but 90% of places can't make that without it dripping oceans of grease.
