PROVO, Utah (AP) - Gary Coleman, the child star of the smash 1970s TV sitcom "Diff'rent Strokes" whose later career was marred by medical and legal problems, has died after suffering an intercranial hemorrhage. He was 42.

RIP, it was kind of sad to see how his life played out.

Very sad, thoughts to his family.

Smiling Assassin27 05-28-2010 01:13 PM

Rest In Peace and thanks for the memories.

Wow ... what a bummer.

The Gooch probably had something to do with this.

BMF Bronco 05-28-2010 02:16 PM

So sad, he had a hell of a life. RIP

Kaylore 05-28-2010 03:13 PM

Alan Thicke wrote and helped sing the theme song to "Diff'rent Strokes."

prunch 05-28-2010 03:13 PM

I actually met him in Denver .... played paintball with him years ago. That's kind of surreal, I know but he was a Denver resident and played paintball. Had a cute, tall, blonde girlfriend at the time too. Nice guy.

gunns 05-28-2010 03:26 PM

He's been living here in Utah, why, I do not know. Married a girl here not too long ago and has been in trouble with the law a lot lately, minor though. Seems his life was kind of sad and out of control. RIP

theAPAOps5 05-28-2010 03:47 PM

Sad news about Coleman. Man he had a often troubled life after Different Strokes ended, sadly so did the other kids stars. Only Willis is alive now from the show.

I remember running home from school to watch different strokes. RIP

DomCasual 05-28-2010 04:11 PM

My brother-in-law is a nurse (not Focker) at a hospital here. A few months ago, he had to give Gary Coleman IV fluids.

I feel as if I've lost a family member - a wee, angry family member.

Wasn't it on Sundays after football? I hated Sunday night TV back then, but Erin Gray was very hot on Silver Spoons....

Hogan11 05-28-2010 04:45 PM

It was a cool show for the most part....a lotta sadness came from it though, especially in the case of Dana Plato.

I panicked when I saw this, I thought it was Gary Cole man!

Shame though.

He was brilliant as a mental version of himself in a Christmas episode of the Simpsons!

As long a Conrad Bain is still alive then all is OK in the world.

I think it was Wednesday, actually. Wasn't the Facts of Life right after it?

bowtown 05-28-2010 05:21 PM

Didn't he live a lot longer than he was supposed to? Or was that Webster? They all look the same to me... short child stars that is.

Hey, now! I loved that George Clooney, even if he did have a mullet (but then again so did Jo). ;D

He was born with a rare kidney disease, did he not?
This on top of other issues he'd battled his whole life...
