Join me in prayer or a drink.

If you don't pray raise up a black and tan and just say quiettiger. I can taste that beer from here.

I am getting a lot more road duty and have been facing a lot of indirect fire lately. Please pray that I get around this place without getting hurt.

Please pray for the soldiers who are above all things our brothers and sisters. They have no color. They have no party affiliation. They are what we should be focused on being which is just Americans. The recent extension comes down hard because it didn't come from the NCO chain of command but the press.

Please pray for America. We are so blessed and yet in our selfishness, anger, and arrogance we don't really appreciate fully what we have or have any real sense of joy. People are angry about the smallest issues. We lack love, patience and the simplest of consideration. Integrity has a price on it.

I'm not expecting any good from this if nothing else getting called out for sentimentality or the smallest issue that a person can fault me for. Fine. You are perfect and I am still flawed. I know my flaws and failings. This isn't about my issues. This is about where are we going as a country.

Pray for America. Pray for peace. Don't pray for violence. Don't pray for vengeance. Don't pray for one thing over another. Just pray for peace.

A couple of years from now after you are done poking fun at my request remember that I did ask.

I'll raise my drink to you and all my "brothers in arms" and harms way. Hopefully we will be able to defy the deciders decisions and get you all home soon.

Stay safe and come back to Denver where we can get a bunch of Maners together to raise that drink together.

My thoughts are always with you and all of the others serving us.

I don't drink or pray.

I sure hope you are OK(better the OK) and come back to this great land safe and sound, really soon.

Peace.

bronco610 04-14-2007 01:21 AM

Prayer first, you got it. Drink second not much my favorite is milwaukee's best. Cheap but right now I know you would rather have that than be where you are. I know when our young men and women go to war that there are no politics on the front line only Americans. We can only hope and pray you and all the other young men and women come home safely. God bless and keep your head down.

SureShot 04-14-2007 01:24 AM

Heres to you man.

JCMElway 04-14-2007 02:27 AM

Get back here in one piece QT. My thoughts are with you......

Rascal 04-14-2007 02:56 AM

I'll say a prayer for you like I do every day for the other troops there QT. Hope you stay safe, and thank you for your service.

Is there anybody else here on the mane that is over there?

Watchthemiddle 04-14-2007 03:40 AM

My prayers go out to you and our other brothers and sisters in harms way. I just had a very good friend of mine return from contract work in A-Stan and Iraq. He had the opportunity protect many dignitaries and other contractors in a 4 year span. Many terrifying pictures, videos, and stories that he shared over a cup of coffee and some Taco Bell.

His stories about Route Irish were horrifying.

I wish you and all that are still there best wishes and come home safe.

BMF Bronco 04-14-2007 11:28 AM

I'd like to dump a drink on the Democrats who by their actions have obviously encouraged Al Queda. Oh I forgot...they aren't in Iraq.

Try to stay safe Tiger.

Arkie 04-15-2007 09:20 AM

Thank you Tiger for your sacrifice and service.

Sorry about the rant Q. But mock is a f-ing jerk!

Stay safe until we get you back the the "Good ol' US of A".

Blueflame 04-15-2007 02:41 PM

The troops in Iraq and Afghanistan aren't "Democrats" or "Republicans", Mock... they're Americans... very brave Americans... and it really wasn't very nice to bring nasty partisan politics into QT's thread.

Odysseus 04-15-2007 03:58 PM

America's media continues to produce lies, half truths and bad information always manipulating a chronically misinformed public.

When we stop playing this red state and blue state game at that point we have a chance to see one problem and perhaps fix one problem.

General Pretraus is doing an incredible job but whether it's too little too late is hard to say.

I have always been against the war. When I first came over I offered Mock a job to come work in Iraq. He refused. Ask him.

I regret my argument with him because I told him before we hit ground that we are in for soul draining meat grinding affair that would stain a generation. I was not wrong. I screamed against this war and it is funny nobody remembers that. I think those were back in the days when I though arguing was cool.

I remember when blood lust was in the air and everyone laughed about .15 gas and how this was going to over quickly. We were complaining about $1.20 gas.

America has become such an angry and violent place. I'm in a war zone but the place I call home has become violent and dark.

Maybe it's the fact I was a few block from DWill when he was killed. Maybe it is the half dozen friends who have died stateside and the near dozen friends I have lost here. My best friend has a liver failing.

This thread isn't about me but it's about all of you. I'm asking you to put down your hostilities for a minute look around and say thank you for what you have. It's America. Dear God. It's beautiful life you lead.

A pray for peace is really hard thing to ask for. I'm not asking for world peace. I'm just asking for a few people to get it and work on it. That's it. Simplicity.

America is filled with good people. We've got to find a way create open conversation that makes our media work for us.
