Who is the greatest southpaw of all-time?
I went with Warren Spahn. His career statistics are so remarkable especially when you consider he missed time to serving his country during the war. Spahn embodied everything you wanted from a southpaw pitcher.

It's Homer time. Lefty Carlton. I only can speak for players that I have seen. I'm not a firm beleiver in judging a player by stats alone. IMO, that is shallow thinking. If you wanna go on stats alone, Calton is amongst the best ever.
My favortie stat for him is that he won 24 games for the Phillies one year and the Phillies as a team only won 60 or so. Pretty astounding. He also possessed the most strikeouts in league history for a left hander.

okay homer time, why wasnt jimmy key on that list ?

hes about the only guy that i even know that is a left hander, mind you i havent watched any baseball since the strike , not that i watched much before it.

Bill James has Lefty Grove as the second best pitcher of all-time (behind Walter Johnson). That's good enough for me.
