This year's Combine Workout Warrior?

Sitting here in the hotel watching Miami of Ohio and Bowling Green play in the rain. So far Omar Jacobs hasn't done much but the conditions are horrible.

Miami has a linebacker named Nande who is 6'1, 230 pounds that runs the 40 in 4.4. He also can bench press 225# 41 times (combine record is 45 which he says he will break) and he squats over 600#.

Is he the next Al Wilson or the next Mike Malamua?

Wow, a LB breaking a lineman's record. Now that would be cool.

I'm sure the workout warrior at the Combine will be some of the athletic freaks that are playing TE right now.

Leon Williams will be a workout warrior at the combine. He'll get somebody to waste a 3rd or 4th round pick on him.

What's his exact squat number? That is truly impressive. Squat in my opinion the best lift of all the lifts and most surefire lift in indicating athleticism.

On the other hand, I am very skeptical of the bench press in terms of carryover to NFL let alone athletics. What sort of grip? Wide or close? And high rep is hardly a true indication of strength at all. You see these LBs benching more reps than the linemen, but overall I bet you the Linemen will have higher max reps.

Is his 40 handtimed?

I

I don't know the details - just repeating what they said on the TV. These kind of guys show up every year. Look good in stats but can't play the game.
