Favorite Album Of All-Time Thread

Alright, greatest hits albums are not elligible. What is your favorite album of alltime? WTF- Greatest Hits Albums if you want.

1. Pink Floyd- Dark Side of the Moon
I'll never forget the first time I heard this albumn in it's entirety. I could say the same for The Wall and Animals too.

2. ELO- Eldorado

Garcia Bronco 04-21-2005 06:26 PM

Darkside of the Moon

FADERPROOF 04-21-2005 06:29 PM

I hate Pink Floyd

I'm going with Aenima by TOOL.

No1BroncoFan 04-21-2005 06:30 PM

I think I've gotta go Jethro Tull, "Live: Bursting Out" as my all time favorite. Not a bad track on the album, though there are a couple missing from the single CD, US version. I had to cough up almost $30.00 for the two disc import. When are the freakin' record lables gonna realize there are audiophiles here in the US too?

I steal music off Limewire like you wouldn't believe... I'm just trying to get some ideas

bombquixote 04-21-2005 06:40 PM

jane's addiction, ritual.

Naming one is nearly impossible. If I had to name the album that I think is quinessential listening I would go with the rather cliche pick of OK Computer (wouldn't have guessed that coming from a guy with a Radiohead album for a username). Led Zeppelin IV would also rank up there as a famous album that I think everyone should hear. Of course you can't forget the Beatles, Velvet Underground...I could go on for a while. There are plenty of greatest albums of alltime lists floating around the net. Look for them if you are wanting to start a collection.

Sir Mawn 04-21-2005 06:44 PM

One? Impossible...

Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night
David Byrne - Rei Momo
Starsailor - Love is Here
David Gray - White Ladder
The Beatles - Let it be
Radiohead - OK Computer
Travis - The Man Who
Tom Waits - Rain Dogs
The Pogues - If I Should Fall from Grace with God

Some of my favorite albums of all time

RhymesayersDU 04-21-2005 06:47 PM

Atmosphere - GodLovesUgly
Kid Rock - Devil Without A Cause

I'll probably get hate for those picks, but they're the CDs in my collection I can honestly say I always listen to all the way through, and never skip even 1 track.

Pink Floyd is just before your time...that's all. TOOL is a great show....I personally find it morbid from a subject matter....but also find the creativity excellent..Pink Floyd is pretty fuggin awesome too. Darkside of the Moon is probably the greatest Album ever...it was in the top 100 for most of your life. My favorite song from the Album is 'Any Colour You Like'....very trippy keys from Mason. The creativity in the compostion of Darkside and the Wall are outstanding. Great Albums IMO regardless if you like the music or not. You're a musican right?

BarefootKicker 04-21-2005 07:35 PM

My Top Five in no order:
Nebraska - Springsteen
Revolver - The Beatles
XO - Elliott Smith
Weezer (blue) - Weezer
American Idiot - Green Day

And I'm glad to see other Tom Waits fans out there. The Heart of Saturday Night is Amazing.

I love darkside - and i find 'darkside' in other material just released currently (much as i find the beatles, zep & sabbath, and with europe bands, i hear more beachboys - ) -

however, as much as i like tool - - my actual all time favourite album has to be a toss up between badmoterfinger by soundgarden - and pet sounds by the beach boys.
