Sporting news 7 round mock...
Wabbit hit it on the G selection.....
ROUND 1 Round 1, Pick 25 Albert *****on/TSN Fabian Washington CB, Nebraska Coverage skills: Is athletic. Maintains good balance in backpedal, and shows a good burst. Drives on the ball in front of him. Is durable and consistent. Works hard on the field, in the classroom and in the weight room. Grade: 7.3. Run/pass recognition: Shows great instincts and consistently gets early breaks on passes. Rarely gets caught peeking at the quarterback. Grade: 7.5. Closing speed: Is quick and fast. Shows above-average burst. Shows a Full analysis ROUND 2 Pick Projected Player Pos. School 24 (56) Craphonso Thorpe WR Florida St. The Broncos could pencil in Thorpe as the No. 3 receiver for now and as the eventual replacement for Rod Smith. Quarterback Jake Plummer needs Thorpe as the consistent deep threat Ashlie Lelie might never become. ROUND 3 Pick Projected Player Pos. School 33 (97) Chris Kemoeatu G Utah (compensatory pick) 37 (101) Vernand Morency RB Oklahoma S. (compensatory pick) ROUND 6 Pick Projected Player Pos. School 26 (200) Bo Scaife TE Texas ROUND 7 Pick Projected Player Pos. School 25 (239) Matthew Tant FB Vandy |
God I hate those guys with every fiber of my being.
A small corner because KH left? KH wasn't even a lock for the nickel this year, that kind of tells you about what Denver has a corner, not to mention 3 2nd year players now at that spot. Lelie might never become a deep threat? Did those idiots even look at last year's stats? AL led the NFL is YPC with 20.1 and all 7 of his TDs were outside 30 yards. What a bunch of ****ing morons. Each year they get worse and worse. TSN is a complete joke. |
no more damn first round corners. And while i like Thorpe, he isnt what we need, he is a speedster deep guy he isnt a big bodied possession guy. Komeatu and Scaife i like, the rest i dont.
This was a poor effort but nowhere near as poor as them projecting us to take Ken Yon Rambo in the first round one year. |
A link would be nice. Thorpe would be a Crap-py choice.

Very poor draft.
Fabian is jumping b/c of his 4.25 40. Sorry but I'd rather have his counter part in the Huskers secondary... Josh Bullocks. I know a few people haven't been impressed with him, but he can ball and is the epitomy of a ballhawk safety. Move Lynch back to his natural position and let Bullocks make some plays. There is also a pretty good ballhawking safety out of Mich. St. His name escapes me right now, but he could be there in the 6th or 7th rounds. At the very least, drafting a safety late helps on ST's. |

I could supply the link but without the warroom pass, it would do much good. It's not my account so I can't post what the password/username is.... |

Fabian would be fine...IN THE SECOND. I'm pretty leery of a Nebraska cornerback anyway. Crapo is just another twig, and we are full up on twigs. And in the SECOND? Give me a break. He's late 3rd. We just don't need another thin reciever unless it's a return guy like Parrish, and that would be late 3rd.
This happens every year with eastern writers. They throw the crap at Denver. The funny thing is, we seem to manage to pick even worse at times. |
4.25 in 40? tell him to run in the olympics. he doesn't belong on football fields.
i am sure shanny must be drooling over this guy though. just two words. chris cole. dude didn't do jack in college but ran 4.3's at combine. shanny went googoo gahgah over him and i think we drafted him in 4th round. we kept him for years for no good reason except for that speed. |
Last nebraska guy to run like this and jump up on the boards was Pickett who I believe was picked 3rd and was a total bust.
|
Well, this draft falls in line with the "uh... really" category as the recent trades and fa signings. Low on the wow factor.
