The Orange Mane John Lynch Stupid Fine Fund

We could do this through Pay Pal - how about it TJ

I'll start the ball rolling with 25 dollars

baja 01-06-2005 08:35 AM

If we have enough support here and we e mail CBS this would be a story guaranteed and it would be our way to show support directly to John.

Spider 01-06-2005 08:37 AM

I dont think it is allowed Baja .... i remember some passing of the Hat for KK , and the NFL came down hard on the Broncos for it

baja 01-06-2005 08:41 AM

I'm not talking about his team mates Spider I'm talking about us doing it here.

Sassy 01-06-2005 09:21 AM

Fusionfrontman 01-06-2005 09:22 AM

That's why I've been calling for it quietly....I'll do it though, I'm getting tired of the "sissification" of the NFL.

Breck Bronc 01-06-2005 09:31 AM

In 2003 a New York Yankees message board collected money to pay for Don Zimmer's fine after his "fight" with Pedro Martinez. If I recall, Zimmer thanked them for the effort but paid the fine himself and asked for the donations from the message board users to be given to a charity instead.

Zimmer's fine wasn't anywhere near $75,000, though.

Meck77 01-06-2005 09:37 AM

Ok Baja...I'll hit up the freaks and ask Damsel to hit the Broncos board. We have quiet a few media contacts that we met along the way this year. Each and every one of the names listed belows got an Orange Force One Bus card that has a link to the OrangeMane on it.

Scott Hastings-KOA Radio
Roach-Koa Radio
Steve Gottsagen-7 news Sportscaster
Chris Tanaka-Fox 31 Sports Producer
Tim Lewis-Espn Radio

We have all their contact info and they have the Manes. It wouldnt' surprise me if some of these guys lurk around here. We met more of these guys but this is more than enough to get the word out that the Broncos fans think this Lynch deal is bogus.

Before we get too far into this though we may want to bounce this off of Taco.

Taco you around? You cool with the Orangemane raising some hell?

If it's not allowed, we could donate the money to Lynch's favorite charity...that's what I was thinking...

Does he have his own charity???

Meck77 01-06-2005 09:52 AM

Cosmo 01-06-2005 10:10 AM

I'm up for 30.00 bucks, is someone really setting this up? Or wabbit, can you find out how we can do this through the team?

baja 01-06-2005 10:11 AM

It is a travesty to slander the reputation of a man of the quality of Mr. John Lynch and this fan based collection to pay his fine is a very good way to stand up for our beliefs. So many times in today's world we sit back and say nothing when we see a wrong thing being done. At some point we the little people need to stand up for something. Although in the grand scheme of things this is a small matter it is none the less a worthy cause. "They" are ruining our favorite pastime don't we owe it to ourselves to speak up in a way that can be heard.

With Meck and Damsel's help this will become a playoff story. The networks love these human interest stories. So what do you guys say........

I'm actually on the phone with them now...

Mile High Shack 01-06-2005 10:11 AM

I'll kick in a little scratch if we can legitamately do something like this

Meck77 01-06-2005 10:12 AM

The team won't touch this with a 10 foot poll. I'll make the media contacts and spread the word via the boards. I guess we just need clearance from Taco and we need a pay pal account.

I highly doubt that when we collect the money would go towards the fine but there is no reason we couldn't send it straight to the Lynch Foundation.

Maybe there is a pay pal already there?
