Hawaii QB Timmy Chang within 500 yards of all-time passing yardage record
He came into tonights game with San Jose State 558 behind Ty Detmer's all time passing yardage mark of a little over 15,000 yards. He has around 60 yards so far, early second quarter. It is unlikely he will break that record tonight unless this is a quadruple OT game, but since Hawaii throws it 40-60 times a game, he will most likely break the record next week.

Chang with a little over 110 yards mid second quarter. Around 430 yards from the record.

Hey SoCal. Are you a fan of TC? Do you think he has what it takes to make it in the NFL? JJ thinks so. I for one don't think so. He's not NFL tough enough.

He isnt NFL caliber. He isnt that accurate and he isnt mobile. He has a good mind and his best asset is his super quick release. So far as arm strength goes he is a bit below average for NFL standards. He might be worth a 7th round pick though. He is bright and can get rid of the ball quickly but thats about it.
With some more work Tony Akpan might be an NFL caliber DL but he still has a way to go. I think Abe Elimimian will be drafted and can play in this league as a dime corner or nickel corner. Wes Killilikipi would make a great FB, he reminds of an Alstott type of guy. Uriah should get in the league as well, JJ and Coach Cav do a good job with lineman. Eventually, Jason Rivers will be NFL caliber too but he hasnt burst out on the scene this year as i expected. I thought he would be the next ashley but he doesnt seem to have that speed or hops. |
JJ is too homer in his NFL projections for his players. He said Sopoaga should have gone early in the 2nd round. Now im a homer and all but that was too much
