Holy Crap! Ohio State won!
My my my, it has actually been a fun week to be an Ohio State Buckeye fan.
First, I get the good news that Troy Smith is starting at QB this week, over the "injured" Justin Zwick. I have been thinking about starting a website entitled www.starttroysmith.com but it seems as Tressel beat me to it.
Then, I get the news that former OSU RB Maurice somethingorother, has ben denied yet again for early entry into the NFL draft. He has the choice of brining it to the Supreme Court or jsut waiting until April for a team to draft him.
Then, Our bad RB, Lydell Ross, gets suspended for this week because...he was using counterfeit money in a strip clube. Good going ZLydell, not only do you have a total of 1 TD this year, you're also losing carries to a redshirt freshman, who now is going to get the start.
And Then the Indiana game comes...
Troy Smith tosses 2 TD passes(1 that was almost 6 the other way) and lead his team to 30 points today(that's 10 more than we've scored in the last 2 games combined.) Antonio Pittman, the freshman that got the start at RB, rushed for over 100 yards with a TD, and Ohio won convicingly.
True it was Indiana, but hell, after seeing how bad our QB and RB have been playing lately, to see 2 new faces starting and doing well makes me happy. Let's just go 7-4 with a win over Michigan and my season will be complete.
They did it again this week. Ohio State will probably be perceived as "piling on" with that last TD, but I think they just meant to run the clock out. MSU just couldn't stop that last run.
I do like the instant replay in the last two minutes. I think all conferences should adopt that. Things that happen in the last two minutes could affect the outcome more than something that happens in, say, early 3rd quarter. If they limit it to the last two minutes, I have no problem with instant replay in college football.
Now it's onto west lafeyette to play Purdue then back in the shoe for the November 20th game against the maize and blue. It would be great to win out, but if we only win 1 of the next 2 games, I'll take it over Michigan :)
