I wont pile on.. clearly I am in no position to anyway.. but regardless, Beau Bridges Callahan should not shoulder the mess there because of their recruiting over the past few years. I said it before though, firing Solich was still a questionable move. Whether or not this is the beginning of a loooong stretch of horror at NU remains to be seen.

I'd be happier if KSU would have lost 70-10 at this point btw. Their team doesnt have the tradition that a program like NU has...

Bugaha fans like Evenrude and Co... pony up to the ugh bar with us Buff fans... its gonna be a long year...

I don't see Nebraska being down for the decade. Right now Callahan is trying to shove square pegs in round holes on offense.... the defense has done pretty well, but can't hold up when the offense is turning the ball over constantly.

Solich was a very poor recruiter, while Callahan is bringing in a top 10 (or possibly a top 5) recruiting class for next year. I'll reserve judgement until Callahan gets his guys in place to run his system......

I'll even buy the first round......

Maybe they could sell the broadcast rights for the CU-NU game to one of those blooper and practical jokes shows. :dummy:

The defense gave up 70 points. If that is pretty good, I would hate to see what pretty bad looks like.

You could blame part of that directly to the Nebraska offense... at one point, they turned the bal over to Tech 5 straight times on turnovers right in the NU redzone...

Evenrude, all I ask is that you guys beat KSU this year bro... misery loves company and nothing would make me happier than seeing Saul's Litterbox bunch get beat down during their "Glory year"

Did you even watch the game? Nebraska turned the ball over 7 times most of which were on the Tech side of the field.... the freakin' '83 Bears defense would have trouble being put in that situation over and over again. Going into Saturday the Husker defense had only allowed 3 TDs all year and they still lead the country in rushing defense. Obviously, Tech exposed some weakness, most of which was lack of athleticism on the front seven, but the defense has been pretty solid most of the year......

It will be hard to do on the road...... but who know what will happen this year...

On the bright side, Husker tickets are getting alot cheaper. I may have to score me some for this weekend.....

Some of you know I too am a husker fan. Yes, even now. This is a major major setback, and will probably hurt recruiting. If we hadn't pulled dailey and just ran the ball in the 4th we probably would have only lost by 30. Callahan seems determined to run his offense no matter what. I still have faith that he can help this program. He has made his share of mistakes, but the fact still remains that this team wasn't built to pass.
We will get better, and the rest of the north had better not count on years of mediocrity. We still have a realistic chance at winning the north (though i'm not sure we want to play in the big XII championship, thus playing OU twice), and we did beat KU, something the mildcats can't say. It's on weekends like this one I am glad I have the broncos.

You and my mom must be the only people in the State of Nebraska who actually watched the whole game.

I rip on Huskers and their fans, but they're hardcore. You have to give them props. That said, I hope they're NOT patient and fire Callahan after next year. Constant chaos would really help us out.

Hey, I never said they were a great defense.... they did give up 70 pts... but they are solid group that won three games for the offense earlier in the year...

Looks like KSU-NU might be this years toilet bowl. Can't wait.

CU, Nebraska, KSU....damn, the Big XII North is pathetic this year. The conference standings will look upside-down by the end of the season. Why don't we ever hear much from KU or MU fans here? You think they'd be gloating.

KU's not exactly tearing it up either.

MU lost to Troy State. You can only brag so much when that happens.

True. I wasn't saying ANYONE is tearing it up, that's why the North sux so bad this year. The point is that MU will probably win it by default, and that KU can at least brag about beating the Wildkitties. In the title game, the South team will stomp all over the North team to win the conference. For that matter, 3 or 4 of the South teams are better than any team in the North.

It's funny how us Big 12 north fans have changed over the course of the season. Before the season started everyone was bragging up their team..... now it is "my team sucks worse than yours does....http://home.alltel.net/jw90140/corn.gif

I'm just glad my team is OU. We had the whole decade of the 90's as a suckfest. It is good to be back on top. North is having a rough year, but they will be back.

THEN you have Saul, who likes to cover his ears and go "LA,LA,LA,LA...I CAN'T HEAR YOU!"

Of course, I wouldn't expect anything less from a Chefs fan. They have been accepting mediocrity for a LONG time.
