Sig Pics
 

This may sound stupid but how in the hell do you add a sig pic¿?¿?..........I have looked all over hell and I'll be damned if I can find an option that allows one to be added..........any help would be greatly appreciated.

On the upper left hand side of the page, in the links bar, you'll see "User CP". Click that, then Edit Signature.

Quite a few posters attach their sig pics to a thread in the Horse's Butt to get the url for the sig... or one can sign up for free gif storage at photobucket.com. They allow hotlinking. :thumbsup:

OK, to troubleshoot, maybe we need to pin down just where the problem is ... the first question involves the type of file... and size... the pic is. Can you attach it on the sig threads in the Butt? It could be the wrong type of file... or possibly too large.

The problem is there isn't an option in user cp to attach a sig pic........now I tried using th IMG option but it calls for a url and there is no url for the pic I have saved on my puter........this is the type of pic I was trying to use and its size should ok..........16.4kb 208x300

If the pic you attached to this post is the one you want to use, you can just right-click on the picture and then click on "properties" and it will give you the url for the attachment, which you can then copy and paste in "edit signature".

For another pic, you can attach it to a post (there are threads in the Butt that people have started for that very purpose) and do the same thing (right-click, "properties").

Another option is to go with the free account at photobucket and upload your picture there, copy and paste that url and you're good to go.

This is good info...but I'm with Doc on one respect..

How do you upload the pic from your own computer?

For a sig, you have to upload the pic as an attachment to a post... on the "reply to thread" page, below the text box, you'll see "Additional Options"... the second one down is "Attach Files" (Manage Attachments). Clicking on that allows you to browse your computer to find the file you want to upload.

Once the picture is uploaded, it has an orangemane attachment url... which can then be pasted into the sig box.

Oh wow!! I could kiss ya! I hadn't noticed that before! Wheee!

Tell you what, if you post the pic you want, I'll save it and upload it to my photobucket account and then it should work.

This url should work for you, Doc. I'm adding an extra character (*) so that the code shows (rather than posting the pic)... when you paste it, just take out the *, add the [IMG] tags and you should be good to go. :thumbs:

I think the reason you got the 404 error is the extra (*) in the url... if you copy the addy and paste it into the sig url box, take out the (*), it should work.

Well damn Blueflame.........I sure cannot fault you for trying and I thank you for all your efforts but for whatever reason it is not going to work.

That's really weird. I can't imagine why it's not working...

On edit: I have an idea... let me check something.

I cannot either, but after pasting it in the img box that damn red X is all I get.

On the reply page, directly below the text box and "submit reply", "preview post" buttons, (in Additional Options, Miscellaneous Options) there's a check box that says "show your signature"... is that box checked on your replies?
