Franz Ferdinand
To anyone who's heard this and is into garage rock...Whattya think?
The CD came my way recently and it's extremely interesting and hooky..I find myself playing it more and more...it's infectious to say the least. |
Good record. Nice rock grooves that you can dance to. I was a bit skeptical when I heard about all the hype from England, as the hype usually doesn't come close to delivering (see The Coral). But I was pleasantly surprised. I absolutely love track 4, "Dark of the Matinee."

I like the video they're playing the snot out of on Fuse as well...bassist plays a Rickenbacker, I'm sold Ha!
|
i've gotten a copy a while a go (couple weeks) - it's not bad, good party CD.
|
I like it alot as well...it just keeps coming back into my CD player after I listen to a few other CD's...
|
Right now it's in a heavy battle with the new Hives CD and Jet for my player's supremecy.........

Franz Ferdinand are from Scotland! :yep:

I picked up their album..... pretty good stuff..... they remind me of an edgier Roxy Music....

I think the Bushes grandfather who dealt with the Nazis probably was in on his assasination, and probably made billions off WW I.
:) |
I especially enjoy the "Take Me Out" track

I've never heard of them.........I'll check it out. I think what I really like about Jet is the way the first few tracks seem to have been done in one session back to back, warts and all...now, of course I know studio trickery can make it seem like this was the case, but I'll take them at their word at the moment...it makes for some exciting listening, I'll say that much...just check out "Last Chance" and how it goes into the hit "Are You Gonna Be My Girl" that amp buzzes it's way into "Rollover D.J." and so on........it reminds me a bit of the Black Crowes "Southern Harmony And Musical Companion" CD in that respect. |
