Well, it looks like Best Buy broke the release date on this game. I got my copy last night. This is a pretty good game. If you play late at night, with the lights off...it's some pretty scary ****. I suggest getting some nice headphones. I actually hooked up my computer to my home stereo and played for a little bit today. Had the 15's pumping out bass when I fired some shots off. The best gun thus far has been the shotty. It's fun blowing a hole in one of the fat ass demon thingies. The graphics are great, but what really makes this game a must buy is the music/sound effects. Like I said before, it's scary. Especially when you're in a pitch black room with nothing but your flashlight, look up at the ceiling and see 3 wall climbers coming. Or maybe you don't see them coming and they drop down on you. The story so far is good. It's as if Doom 2 never happened. Which is pretty good because it sucked anyways. Time to go play some more. It's getting late and it's time to scare myself a bit. I rate this game 4 frags out of 5.

I got it from Gamestop over the weekend... I've been slowly but surely trying to get through game... its dope bro... makes Far Cry look like 8 pixel stuff...LOL

As for rep-whoring... its all about the dots, you know that.. Its funny, I can't even neg rep very much anymore because it causes a hell of a lot of points to be taken away from peeps... I must get a second identity here... something like Mr. Incognito Rep or something so I can just dish out the neg rep without having to send the peeps into the blue dot area hehe...

By the way, I got a cool little pewter figurine of the Baron of Hell with my purchase... I will have to take a picture of it post it as my new avatar or something...

This game is pretty hard. I gotta admit, this game made me jump last night. I was walking down a hall...And bam! A damn body came flying through a window...scared the ever living **** out of me. Have you played online yet? I'm thinking about hoping on today and seeing if anyones online. The mp maps are small tho. I don't see this game taking over multiplayer. Especially since CS:Source is coming out on beta in a couple weeks. Found that out while I was down at CPL this past week/weekend. CS with ragdoll physics....life is perfect. [gamermode] Source will roxor my boxorz. It's chopped full of pwntien and l33tsauce.[/gamermode]
Whew, had to get that out of the way. I didn't get a cool figurine or anything. I was robbed. I guess I was happy enough with getting the game when I did. We stopped at the BestBuy in Dallas on our way back home from CPL. We were looking for a cd to listen to and we saw it....fainted, purchased it, drove like bats out of hell to get home. :devil: <~~~~this looks like a hellspawn.

man, I can't wait to get my hands on Doom3...hopefully this means Id/activision will get rolling on Quake 4.

how much RAM and what kind of graphics cards (mb) are you guys using?

I've got a gig of RAM and I just upgraded to a 256mb ATI Radeon x800 xt from a 128 mb ATI Radeon 9800 pro. The 9800 would run it just fine, but I like to waste money on this crap. Plus, I needed an upgrade to secure my ability to run CS:Source and HL2.

And for my 1300th posts....videos of CS:Source. It's foreign, but whatever. This is going to rock.

I have a gig of ram slapped up on my rig too... PC3200 ecc registered stuff... (Mobo only supports registered)

I keep getting thrashed in the game. I need to figure out how to switch from my flashlight to my guns in less than an instant dammit!

Har har har...life is great isn't it? I'm thinking of setting up an AMD 64 hd in slot 4 and move all my games to it. Do you think there will be a conflict with the Intel cards? I'm reading up on it and haven't found anything about it yet. I may not do it and wait until I can get 2 or 3 of these bad boys and put it in at once. It's also becoming a hassle to find these with the 939 chipset. Everything is a damn 940 chipset. Why must everything be so damn complicated? Oh well, here's to happy fragging for you all. :cheers:

When is this games release date?

Not to sure on an actual release date. CS:Source (the game above) will be released with Half Life 2. The Beta for CS:Source will be released to lan centers within a week or two, and then released through steam (Valve's platform for updating games) to people that purchased Counterstrike:Condition Zero. I bought Condition Zero for this purpose specifically. I wanted to Beta test Source for a couple reasons. 1) It's going to more than likely be used in online leagues, and Lan tournaments (CPL, WCG, Lanferno, ESWC..etc etc.) and I need to study the new maps and physics for tactics. 2) I will be able to give feedback to Valve on what needs to be changed, added in, taken out...etc etc. I'd have to say that the nationwide release date will be sometime around October, but thats just a guess right now. Valve is slow at releasing stuff. If I hear anything else I'll let you guys know...and I'll also create a thread when I start beta testing and let you guys know if this game is worth the hype.

Sweet! I just built my p4 and have collected a few games so far: UT2004, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time and Halo PC. DOOM3 will be mine ASAP. Good to hear that it runs fine on the 128MB 9800.

played it for a bit this afternoon on my dad´s pc as mine is seriously struggling with it. the graphics are great, but yet im a bit disappointed as the ai is quite poor and the game is too linear. doesnt beat far cry for me ...

I already got a copy of Doom3 waiting for me. Just holding out for the Computer (which was shipped today! woohoo!).

Im more interested in Halo 2 though. Doom 2 was a huge disappointment after a relatively easy yet cool Doom 1. I hope Doom 3 isn't bad. I wasnt a big fan of the story line, thought it was totally stupid but what the hell. its a fun shooter. Halo's Story is far and away the best of anyt of the FPS games.
