What?? No DNC Convention coverage thread??

Amazing....well, Did Al Gore speak? I don't know....if he did, I missed him...no biggie....moving on...

Hillary didn't impress me at all...those that love her fawned over every word of course...I also heard nothing that would indicate a run in 2008....those who are convinced of her running, by all means show me something out of her speech that would hint towards that because I may have missed something there...but honestly, I heard nothing that would point in that direction from her.

Bill hits the stage and hits a home run....I thought his speech was very, very impressive, maybe too much so. I tend to agree with the notion that he may have set the bar too high for Kerry with it....it was clear that he's lost none of his ability to bring it at the podium.

Thoughts?

I was out when the Clinton's spoke, but I know Gore spoke earlier tonight. From the little bit I saw, it seemed like the robotic Gore of the 2000 race was back.

Hercules Rockefeller 07-26-2004 08:45 PM

and Hillary is not going to give any hint about an '08 run since she's supposed to be campaigning for a guy she wants to be running for re-election that year.

I agree with you but there are those out there who want it sooo much that they will read something between the lines in her speech...I know the coverage at CNN was looking for a hint and found nothing...I saw no indication at all.

I didnt watch , Just like I wont watch the Reps convention ...........

Crushaholic 07-26-2004 09:56 PM

I was watching "puppies" on Raw. ROFL!

I might catch a little of the convention tomorrow. I'm kind of surprised LABF hasn't weighed in on this thread yet. We'll just have to wait until he finishes swooning over Bill Clinton and then he'll be here. :spamattac

Exactly.

Isn't it nice to have a reminder of what it was like when we had a real president and not the brainless twit who currently squats in Al Gore's house?

We'll just have to wait until he finishes swooning over Bill Clinton and then he'll be here.

An old Chinese proverb:

Better to "swoon" over a real president than to embarrass yourself defending a never-elected fraud.

(Actually, I said that.)

:)

I thought Jimmy Carter gave the most impressive speech of the evening, even better than Bubba's. Of course, the networks didn't show it, only PBS.

BroncoMatt 07-27-2004 11:14 AM

I missed it, but was able to catch a replay of Hillary and Bill on cspan. She was good, not great. Bill Clinton is without a doubt the baddest man on the planet. He was awesome.

plummerrox 07-27-2004 12:06 PM

Clinton was a great show as always - too bad that's all he was.

Old Dude 07-27-2004 12:21 PM

Honestly, I didn't watch it and have no intention of doing so. Or the RNC either. I've already made up my mind who I'm going to vote for in November and I can't think of anything anyone is likely to say at either of the conventions that would change that.

Fox covered the entire speech. Slick Willie can still charm with his delivery and ability to frame his reasoning in circular logic.

Yep. Carter definitely laid the wood to the Illegitimate Fraud.

Had the monkey been watching, he would have no doubt been asking Unka Karl "what just happened here?"

:)

Yeah, Bill gave a good speech. He is a great orator that's for certain.

So was Hitler though so I take it with a grain of salt.

"Regardless of your opinion at the beginning of this war, isn't it now obvious that the way the war has been managed by the administration has gotten us into very serious trouble?..wouldn't we be safer with a president who didn't insist on confusing al-Qaida with Iraq."

I'm sure Monica Lewinsky thought the same thing!!

Wouldn't it make more sense to admit that there are more terrorist groups than Al Queda? or are the attacks in Gaza, in Jordan, in Saudi Arabia and in India and Indonesia have to get the definition of "Al Quaeda"?

All kinds of idiotic names have popped up dimwit. Al Queda is a death sentence at this point. There are all kinds of cells that are Al Queda that use various idiotic names. WTF are you on?

There are Mohammed's Goat Herders for Nuclear Weapons, The Alla Akbar Suicide Squad, Hamas, the list to so long it's amusing. Baath party members in Iraq teaming up with related Cells.

Bush didn't call out Al Quaeda, he called it a war on terror.

watermock 07-27-2004 06:53 PM

Barak Obama?

That's kinda odd.

Usama Bin Laden.....Barak Obama?

Great Cheers.

The next speaker is black and claimed that the Bush Administration says that "A Black Child reading a Book is called a Whitey".

Then he called for protectionism. When was free trade introduced? Was that something Bush introduced?

Was that something that Bush introduced?

Now he is asking for more troops to win the peace in Iraq.

How amusing. He's playing the military card about how Kerry managed to 5 man boat while they all want to withdraw.

Where is Michael Moore when you need him?

Now he is complaining about prescription drugs when he ignores the biggest prescription drug program in 40 years for seniors.

Last said he says is Blue and Red and Republicans are Red and are dividers.

Obama just gave an amazingly powerful speech. Of course, once you throw it in the old Mock blender, it becomes unrecognizable. We'll be hearing more from this guy in the future.

L.A. BRONCOS FAN 07-27-2004 07:05 PM

OMG...

The Son of God (Reagan) is speaking at the DNC and (gasp) disagreeing w/ the chimp's policies.

How will the wingers reconcile this?

(Stand by for the explosion of all the wingers' heads.)

L.A. BRONCOS FAN 07-27-2004 07:08 PM

Of course, once you throw it in the old Mock blender, it becomes unrecognizable.

LOL

This is the truth.

This is the truth filtered through Bacardi 151.

L.A. BRONCOS FAN 07-27-2004 07:09 PM

Wow!

Ron Reagan Jr. is, I daresay, kicking some serious monkey ass!
