Linda Ronstadt Incites Mini-Riot Dedicating Song To Moore

Loved to been there to seen that!!

------------------
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Singer Linda Ronstadt (news) was thrown out of the Aladdin casino in Las Vegas on the weekend after dedicating a song to liberal film maker Michael Moore and his movie "Fahrenheit 9/11," a casino spokeswoman said on Monday.

Ronstadt, who had been hired for a one-show engagement Saturday night at the Las Vegas Strip casino, dedicated a performance of "Desperado" to Moore and his controversial documentary, which criticizes President Bush (news - web sites) and the U.S.-led war in Iraq (news - web sites).

That dedication angered some Aladdin guests who spilled drinks, tore down posters and demanded their money back, said casino spokeswoman Sara Gorgon.

"We had quite a scene at the box office," she said.

Dumb whore...I can only think about her CD I bought as a christmas gift for my dear old mum...helped line her pockets.

TexanBob 07-19-2004 07:51 PM

"Desperado...why don't you come to your senses?"

So, exactly what is she trying to tell Mr. Moore?

Hogan11 07-19-2004 07:53 PM

What the hell happened to her?....she used to be a very beautiful woman at one time.

"Love is a rose but you'd better not pick it, only grows when it's on the vine......."

I'm the youngest of 4 and my older brothers and sister listened to "California Rock". Eagles, Warren Zevon, Ronstadt, Fleetwood Mac, Jackson Browne.

Ronstadt had a great voice but only did cover songs, which lessens her stature to me.

My vote for greatest female voice of all time goes to Ann Wilson of Heart. Unreal pipes and could sing pop, rock, 70's metal and folk with equal ease. Unreal pipes on her.

Same thing that happened to Ann Wilson. Get off the blow and you put on a ton of lbs.

Ronstadt was a widely known Coke binger. She nearly burned holes in her nostrils from Coke abuse.

"I'm gonna say it again......"

Popps 07-19-2004 09:55 PM

Another typical entertainment industry type with an empty skull just waiting for someone like Moore to shovel $#it into it.

Any guy my age should remember this TV "Boy to Young Man Evolution" that influenced your attraction to women. I remember my "Puberty Babes" well.

Barbara Eden (Jeannie), Dawn Wells (Gilligan's Island), Wonder Woman, and Blair Warner from "The Facts of Life" were all the first babes that changed my brain chemical functioning.

But my top babe of all time then was Nancy Wilson from Heart.

Before Heart made their commercial laden comeback in 1985, I was a big Heart fan from 77-82 or so. I saw their 'Private Audition' tour and Nancy was looking smokin as usual. She actually played a better guitar than I expected and was pounding beers on stage.

I was in love.

I had no idea Ronstadt fans were capable of rioting. Maybe a few curse words and maybe giving the bird, but a riot?

It's like hearing Mel Torme's fans used to knock over liquor stores.

How true. She must of out of line to have the toupe crowd crash the stage.

How amusing. GET THE b****....

I would die to see that video.

Let me tell you something. People are starting to be chased off the stage when they spout off.

Heil Bush!

Exile_In_SJ 07-20-2004 01:31 PM

well she just gave a healthy '**** you' to half her audience.

What is with these morons who think people pay outrageous ticket prices to listen to them spout off their political stances?

People bought tickets to listen to her sing, not be a propagandist for another fat slob.

Well people voted with their feet and the Casino manager kicked her rear to the curb. I'd have loved to have seen that, and the expression on her face.

Some people will cry censorship, but when censorship only occurs whenb the government does it. The Casino guy had every right to get rid of her.

he Dixie Chicks were incredibly stupid also when they decided to exercise their right of free speech. The stupid thing was not understanding that there were consequences and that freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences. Their small minds were unable to comprehend that it wasn't censorship when some of the people they offended decided not to enrich them any more. The government didn't boycott them, the people did.

It's stupid to annoy half the population just so you can make a political statement, and not expect repercussions. I wonder when a conservative or pro Bush performer will make a similar gaffe?

Hey... now. Nothing wrong with 50-somethings that a little nip & tuck can't fix.

And a good denture adhesive.

Taco John 07-20-2004 01:52 PM

...and a can of aerosol hair... :)
