OT: Running Out of Ideas

So, I've been getting these calls, once every three or four days this month, from these guys claiming to work for some sort of "Windows" computer security system. East coast area codes but heavy accents - probably from India, though I'm not an expert.

Basically, they want me to visit their website and then download a virus so that I can pay them several hundred dollars to remove it. Different versions of this scam have been going on since at least 2006.

So far, I've hung up on them. Told them to quit calling me and hung up on them. Called them names, hung up on them and reported them to the FTC. Told them I was too busy getting a blowjob from Mowgli and to leave me alone and then hung up on them. Told them I had a pizza guy at the door and to hold on for just a minute, then set down the phone and took the dog for a walk.

Running out of ideas, here, guys.

Pretend you don't speak English.

DarkHorse30 07-18-2014 04:10 PM

Keep saying "I don't understand that can you explain it again" over and over again. Put your phone on speaker and go about your business when you hear a lull ask again for clarification

Rohirrim 07-18-2014 04:19 PM

Refer them to the guys in Nigeria. Maybe you can create an endless scam loop?

DenverDynamite 07-18-2014 04:26 PM

I was getting these for a while... same deal, yelled at 'em, reported their number to the FTC, etc. The best was one day my wife got on the phone and started talking all dirty about downloading porn, it was awesome, THEY hung up on her.

baja 07-18-2014 04:28 PM

Tell them you have a Mac.

ghwk 07-18-2014 04:29 PM

Sell them a quality Broncos jersey for 19.95

Dr. Broncenstein 07-18-2014 04:34 PM

Or you can talk like this guy:

That's what I do when I call my insurance company or any other company with IVR until I get a live agent.

baja 07-18-2014 04:40 PM

Note their phone number and block it or better yet give it it's own ring tone so you know when they are calling and talk very very softly. He/she will crank up their listening volume than blast them with the afore mentioned air horn.

Rohirrim 07-18-2014 04:49 PM

Get an Iphone from somebody and set it next to your phone. Let Siri answer their questions until they hang up.

Blueflame 07-18-2014 04:49 PM

If there's a young child available, simply hand the phone to the child and let the kid "entertain" the scammer for a while.

What else is he going to do with his time?

broncolife 07-18-2014 05:02 PM

Make masturbation noises and tell him to talk dirty to you. Everybody I call hangs up on me before I finish.:(

broncolife 07-18-2014 05:06 PM

Record different languages and play them.
