CEO of Exxon Mobil Sues to Stop Fracking Near His House

In related news, Rex Tillerson, the CEO of Exxon Mobil Corporation, has joined a lawsuit to stop a 15-story water tower, to be used for fracking, from being built near his 83-acre Texas ranch. Tillerson and his fellow plaintiffs—among then former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey—argue that the proposed water tower would “devalue their properties and adversely impact the rural lifestyle they sought to enjoy.” The plaintiffs state their ranches are all worth at least $1 million; Tillerson’s in particular sounds wonderful, with “homes, barns, and a state-of-the-art horse training facility.”

The lawsuit details the concerns Tillerson and his fellow ranch-owners have about fracking, including the noise, light pollution, and environmental harm they believe it will cause. They assert that the fracking will result in “undesirable development not in character with their neighborhood.”

The guy will be arrested and jailed as appropriate for any lawbreaker. To hold him as any general example of either party just means you have done too much acid and shrooms to render any clear thought impossible.

No it's like Steven Segal movie. It's the best story out there and the national media outside fox news ignored it. What could be funnier then a gun control politician from the most powerful state being an actually gun runner?

It's like a bad movie plot its so perfect!

So it says little about the dem party, but loads about our media.

Seriously, do you get your news from anywhere other than Fox??

Lee's story got extensive coverage on ABC, from Reuters, LA Times, NY Mag, CNN, The Economist....the list goes on.

Trying to pierce their bubble is a hopeless task.

It only received any coverage on CNN after they were caught on Twitter saying they don't cover state senators and the obvious hypocrisy over the Wendy Davis coverage.

I don't think they deserve any credit for that.

The point is, the story was well covered by the media.

The only thing CNN covers these days in the missing Malaysian flight.

I have served on a large rural water board for over 20 years and I can tell you for a fact that absolutely no one wants a water tower on or near their property. The water board does extensive property research along with engineering and feasibility studies. We also take into consideration the impact on personal and commercial property, but for the most part the tower will be built where it will function and provide the maximum output for consumer consumption.

Lawsuits and threat of lawsuits are a normal part of the equation not just with towers but also waterlines, pump stations and anything related to water production. If you have you ducks in a row the courts will almost always side with what’s best for the community.

barryr 04-23-2014 07:26 PM

So are liberals for fracking or like everything else, depends which way the wind is blowing, from the left or right?
