I need to preface this link as not really being a "matchup article" but it is an outstanding read. Highly recommend it.

People who were dumb enough to question Manning's heart on Sunday should read this

this is a good article.

I'm really hoping kc goes on a huge slide and loses like 3 of their next 5 games, starting with the Broncos. This is going to be a HUGE game. Broncos don't want to lose 2 in a row and kc does not want to lose 3 in a row. Huge game.

That was a nice read. I thought it might get to the Pats game, but it didn't. Would have been nice to read a little more about the mindset during those conditions and that game.

Arrowhead Pride - KC Chiefs Game Plan (Nick Jacobs)
http://www.arrowheadpride.com/2013/1...denver-broncos

The first time the Broncos attempt it, the Chiefs should have their two most vicious hitters aligned over the middle. Once they see the cross on their side, take the receiver out. You lower the shoulder full strength into the cross. You put that message in the Broncos head: You will not be running any rub routes on us today. If you do, you risk the health of your receiver. You decide.

Now this may get a 15-yard penalty. I would much rather get a 15-yard penalty sending a message and setting the tone than to let a team think they can run that play on the defense again. Again, the message would be sent loud and clear to that offense on the field and to any future team watching the tape. That is a message that needs to be sent this week.

LOL Yeah that's a great plan. Don't wrap up and tackle, go for the big hit, which never results in a missed tackle and YAC. And 15 yard penalty is always preferable to a 5 yard slant if you send a message! It's not like we'd take 15 yard penalties all day against one of the stricter officiating crews in the game or anything.

And the part about their defense needing their swagger back and this being the perfect opportunity. News flash: You aren't playing undrafted free agent rookies anymore. It's easy to get swagger when the QB has 0 NFL experience and you're at home. Play a couple of pro-bowl QB's and suddenly things are harder. With Houston out and Hali at less than 100%, assuming he even is able to play, they'll need more answers than that.

Chief fans are losers and you can tell because discussions around beating our team always come back to trying to injure our players.

Sure, i could go for a cheap TD or two if that's the case. Aren't they meant to try keep the score down so capt. checkdown can win it?

Would love if they tried this, then Manning catches them on one the following play. It's the sort of **** he does.

BroncoBuff 11-28-2013 08:47 AM

Damn, that WAS an epic article. The story Manning has written for himself in Denver is unique - when has an established QB surpassed himself, raised his game with a new team after age 35? Joe Montana, Craig Morton, not even.

But the headline in the magazine, "Is Peyton Manning the Best QB Ever?" Oh brother... I didn't make any friends saying this a couple weeks ago, but the answer is no way. He's not even the best active QB now. And it's not the cold conditions ... Ravens and Pats games were historic cold, and his play was win-worthy in both. Despite all the receiver screwups, Manning had the Patriots game basically won until the muffed punt. The Tamme TD pass was EPIC. (Strangely enough, Tamme was actually mic'd up for the game).

No, itís not the cold that puts Brady ahead, itís the post-freakin-season.
PLAYOFFS
20 games - Peyton 88.4 Rating, 3-2 TD-Int - 2 Super Bowls, 2-2 TD-Int
24 games - Brady 87.4 Rating, 2-1 TD-Int - 5 Super Bowls, 9-2 TD-Int

BUT: In 12 playoffs, Peyton's been one and done 8 freakiní times. Won the Super Bowl after the '06 season, but next two years his 12 and 13 win Colts lost back-to-back first-rounders to the 10 and 8 win Chargers. That hurts. Next season ended with his worst-ever moment, the Tracy Porter Int in the Super Bowl. Still canít believe we signed frickiní Porter, seems disrespectful, I hope they asked PM first ...... donít agree? Compare: Patriots didnít sign David Tyree, did they? Of course not.
So PM lost a Bowl on the Porter pick, where TB lost a Bowl to the Tyree miracle ... oversimplified sure, but still, big difference. Iíll admit I give Brady extra points because Bill Belichick is the most overrated human Iíve ever seen, but being objective, I donít think Manning could catch Brady at this point.

2) Who are you and what have you done with the Chiefs' defense? When the Broncos and Chiefs played just two weeks ago, Kansas City entered the game with the league's best scoring defense, yielding just 12.3 points per game. Since then, the Chiefs are tied for the worst scoring defense, allowing 34 points per game. And in November, when they played the Bills, Broncos and Chargers, the Chiefs gave up 462.7 yards per game -- worst in the NFL. One big problem: According to Pro Football Focus, their top three cornerbacks were targeted 22 times by the Chargers last week and allowed 17 receptions for 350 yards. Injuries to Justin Houston and Tamba Hali (who hopes to play in Sunday's rematch against Denver) further complicate the Chiefs' issues. But the Broncos' offense has slowed, too. Their three lowest point totals of the season -- 27, 28 and 31 -- have come in their last three games.
