God no , don't clone that whinny douche. If you're are going to clone a dead beatle you clone George Harrison.

BroncoLifer 08-22-2013 03:18 PM

Johnny Cash a much better choice to clone.

Although i'm a big Beatles and Lennon fan in general,
i feel that he reached his potential largely

bring back Hendrix or SRV first

Wes Mantooth 08-22-2013 06:02 PM

I saw this.

As much as I love what Lennon did musically he was a drug addled dick the majority of his life. He was hooked on smack for years at the end of the Beatles run, he wrote Cold Turkey because he was kicking with Eric Clapton on an international flight to the US for a concert.

I rewatched the Documentary "Lennon in America" a few weeks ago. He was terrible to Yoko and the whole "Long Weekend" period was selfish.

I don't think the world needs another Lennon, the clone's life experiences and motivations will be different. It does not make sense to try to clone anyone and expect the same outcome.

The only useful field where cloning would be a good thing is for the Porn industry. Just think about a stack of just turned legal aged Traci Lord's clones for sale!

Houshyamama 08-22-2013 06:36 PM

Even if he was cloned he wouldn't be John Lennon. It doesn't work like that.

If you clone someone, WTF clone an entertainer?

Why not Einstein? Bonhoeffer? Isaac Newton?

It wouldn't matter. You couldn't duplicate the life experience that made them what they were. Einstein said that one of the key elements to his success was that his family thought he was retarded and just left him alone. He spent all those years dreaming and imagining. Nobody would leave a cloned Einstein alone.

I like the idea of Jim Morrison being cloned.

Gene Kranz should have been 1st on that list. None of those dudes you mentioned saved men 250,000 miles from Earth from certain death.

The days of the public holding in high esteem national heroes and inventors is long gone. Today is about worshiping trashy celebrities. Get with the program!

Rohirrim 08-28-2013 07:09 AM

Eddie is still alive though you wouldn't know it by his playing recently.

Again cloning may recreate the physical body and attributes but it is the life experiences that led them to greatness.

Think about it, Einstein had all that free time while working in the Post Office to work out his theories. Lennon lost his father, was raised by an Aunt. Most of his songs were written based on things that happened during his childhood in around where he lived. Strawberry fields, In My Life, even his later stuff like Mother and Julia were written because he lost his mother. Would a clone of him who had a happy childhood end up being a great song writer or would he end up punching a clock in IT or Accounting his whole life?

I tell you guys the only thing Cloning is good for is to recreate hot porn stars.

Steven just won this thread ...
I've been saying for years when they perfect cloning I'm selling my dad's plane and getting two Kate Beckinsales.

JPPT1974 08-28-2013 06:18 PM

Would rather clone John Lennon than say, Miley or Justin Bieber!
